Teen Road Adventure
Many adults completing The Road Adventure comment, "I wish I had attended something like this when I was a teenager! My life would have been much different". Looking back on our lives, most of us would agree we wish we had done things differently. Or we wish we had had the tools to make better choices.
The Teen Road Adventure offers the opportunity to Teens, ages 13 - 17, to look back at their past and how it has affected them. It then gives the tools to make better choices for the future. In Teen Roads, many of the games and drills of The Road Adventure for adults are repeated, but with a slant toward teenagers. Teens will look at issues dealing with Peer Pressure, Relationships with Parents, and Past Hurts (abandonment, abuse, rejection, bullying, etc). They will learn to deal with the various emotions that seem to control their lives: anger, bitterness, low self-esteem, and negative thoughts that subconsciously influence their
lives.
The teen program is a "lock in". They are required to stay at the seminar location for the duration of the program. Chaperones and adult supervision are provided at all times. Meals and lodging are included in the cost of the program. As with most Youth events, a parent or legal guardian must sign a (notarized) permission slip for participation in Teen Road as well as permission for any outside recreational activities.
THERE IS A BRIEF, REQUIRED MEETING FOR PARENT/LEGAL GUARDIAN AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SEMINAR ON FRIDAY AND ANOTHER ON SUNDAY AFTERNOON.
Not only is this program powerful for the teen as an individual, it also has the potential TO IMPACT the entire family AS WELL AS THE expanded environment in which the teen lives.
